Stored in the energy storage device (battery or capacitor), at night, the electric energy in the energy storage device is automatically converted into the light energy (controlled by photoelectric switch), and the road outline is drawn by the light emitted by the led to guide the driver's line of sight.
According to the different installation positions, the solar studs can be divided into embedded type and protruding type.
The former is generally used in the center line, while the latter is generally used in the edge line. This is because the requirements for compressive performance of the solar studs installed in the middle line are particularly high. In order to solve this problem, we have to embed the solar studs in the ground, only about 5 mm above the ground. However, the solar studs used in the edge line do not have very high requirements for compressive performance, and they can still work effectively when protruding from the ground.
According to the different energy storage components, the solar spike can be divided into two types: capacitive type and battery type. The former has a service life of five to seven years, while the latter has a service life of one to three years.
Because the embedded solar studs do great damage to the road surface, and the cost of the capacitive solar studs is too high, so the most widely used solar studs are the convex solar studs.

Compressive properties
If the solar spike can't bear certain pressure, it will easily break down after the car is rolled or impacted, so it can't work normally, so compression is a basic condition for the normal work of the solar spike. But the problem is that the solar spike itself is an electronic product, including the electronic part. It is not easy to make the electronic part have a higher degree of compressive performance, so generally speaking, the compressive performance of the solar spike is worse than that of the ordinary spike. As of 2014, the technical requirement of the Ministry of transport is 10 tons.
There are several ways to effectively improve the compressive performance of the solar spike: first, the exposed solar panel adopts PC bulletproof material to enhance the compressive capacity of the electronic part; second, IC control is used as far as possible to reduce the volume of the electronic circuit and reduce the pressure on the electronic part; Third, some stiffeners are designed on the shell to share the pressure of the electronic part.
Sealing performance
If the solar spike is not completely sealed, it will naturally leak water, which will cause a short circuit in the circuit, and the consequences are catastrophic, so a qualified solar spike sealing performance must also pass the test.
There are several ways to improve the sealing performance of solar energy spikes:
(1) Separation design. LED lamp shade and internal circuit board adopt isolation design, even if the LED lamp shade is broken, the interior of the solar spike is still guaranteed not to leak water;
(2) Strong neutral bonding material is used to ensure that the solar panel, LED lampshade and the spike shell are closely bonded without any gap in the middle.
Compared with the reflective road studs, it has a very important feature of high luminous intensity. This indicator is required by the Ministry of transport to be 2000 MCDs.
